Amitié Portugal-Luxembourg (“APL”) was founded in 1969 and started its
intercultural activities in 1996. APL’s focus has been the promotion of European values and crucial role of the European citizens in building an integrated Europe. APL’s intercultural, short and long term, projects have involved people from different ages and cultures living in Luxembourg and working together. APL is active at both a national and European level. Through its different activities and international work-camps, APL plays a role and contributes in building an open and tolerant society. APL’s objective is to show that prejudices existing among people with different backgrounds can be reduced and even eliminated through their direct interaction. Through our projects, we have noticed and strongly put forward the huge capacity of young people to contribute in community’s life. Our experience has shown that youth’s new ideas and philosophy of inclusion helps in acknowledging and further promoting cultural diversity as an enrichment of communities. This can be easily observed in the role they have and the impact they make in the realization of our projects. In this perspective, our initiatives actively contribute at a European level. |
