Last month, Compagnons Bâtisseurs France organized its annual meeting called “social workcamp” in Lille, during 1 week. Within this action, we helped different associations specialized in several projects to build materials that they needed.
This meeting gathered more than 90 people from Compagnons Bâtisseurs, volunteers, staff members, board, etc. This was a good opportunity to help associations and to create a close link with the members of our association. This year, we realized four big projects in a week. A record time!!! We helped to renovate a teenager center in Roubaix (close to Lille, in a poor neighborhood), we created some urban furniture with Roubaix inhabitants, we built some cabins for children's playtime and finally we finished by helping a local association to optimize the use of there space. Everybody worked a lot! We were proud of the participants because they gave their best and created a good environment in this meeting. Compagnons Bâtisseurs counts on people from different countries who speak different languages and that wasn’t an impediment for them to work together and to understand our mission. We help people to build a better world. In conclusion, we love to work with volunteers and we want more volunteers to participate in our projects, they will be very welcomed and we will love to teach them French. Below there are some pictures that illustrate this action. Merci beaucoup.

AMC had its first European Solidarity Corps project approved, EU.Motion, which involves 7 partner organizations of MCN – More Citizenship Network from France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Poland, and Malta.
The goal of the project is to create volunteering opportunities for 34 youngsters between 18 and 30 years old during 3 years. Together, we want to contribute to a more supportive, just, and equal society. A society where young people are concerned about the state of the world, where they have their own thoughts about the things that affect the community, and where they are able to share and debate ideas and opinions about what is going on in society. We are very happy to be working together in this project in order to achieve a greater good! In the wake of the project Geração Global, AMC developed in 2019 an innovative tool: Toolkit Geração Global. It has the goal to promote Global Education to youth workers and youngsters between 13 and 20 years old. It is an artistic resource to be used by educators and youth workers to promote active citizenship and Human Rights awareness through a pedagogical approach. The tool is composed by an illustrated manual of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, an illustrated Handbook of Invisible Discrimination, and a video animation regarding freedom of expression. The tool was presented in May 2019 in Lisbon to a group of 25 youth workers and activists. This presentation was part of a training course organized by AMC, dedicated to test and explore the potential of the Toolkit. The iPrepare tool is an interactive web surface offering online preparation to volunteers departing soon for a long term international project within European Solidarity Corps as well as its predecessor, European Voluntary Service. The tool aims at offering volunteers the possibility to engage in an online learning process and offering supporting organizations (SO-s) a wide range of materials to support the volunteers' learning prior to departure. The tool functions both on pc and mobile devices. It includes many different types of activities (such as quizzes, videos, etc.) to treat a set of topics organised in modules. Combining the modules and selecting the topics/activities focusing on different issues makes it possible for SO-s to realise various preparation programmes adapted to each volunteer’s individual needs. The tool is freely accessible on-line for all volunteers and SO-s, but registration is required in order to allow keeping track of the progress. You can go to the intro page without registering to become familiar with the tool and to find out if it's for you, or login to start your preparation journey. The website is in its final testing phase. If you wish to leave us your feedback, please use this survey. The tool was realised in the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 project „i-Prepare” (2017-2-HU01-KA205-036198) from November 2017 to September 2019. The project team has been composed of 3 organisations: Egyesek Youth Association from Hungary, Xena Centro Scambi e Dinamiche Interculturali from Italy and Cia Cekija from Czechia. |
